In 2019, DUST2 partnered with the Pagosa Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest to build a connection between the Continental Divide Trail to FS Road 725 leading to the Treasure Mountain trail. Thank you to all who helped last year and especially to Tyler Albers for spearheading the project from the USFS side!
This August we will again partner with the Forest Service to install critical switchbacks on the upper portion of the trail that were not able to be finished last summer. We need your help for this project!
When: Saturday, August 1st – Wednesday, August 4th, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM each day
Where: Camping and staging will take place at the end of FS Road 725 (you do not have to camp – you can meet us at this staging area in the morning). Trail work will be on the connector trail near the CDT.
Volunteers need to make sure to bring work gloves, long pants, sturdy closed-toed shoes, eye protection, water, snacks, and sunscreen. DUST2 and the USFS will provide the tools for trailwork. If you are planning on camping, you will be responsible for your own gear and meals.
